This photo shows a Goura Cristata. Also called a Crowned Pigeon. You can probably guess why...
In my opinion you can see that this bird species belongs to the Pigeon family. Among other things, that's what makes it so special in my opinion. This is because pigeons are often seen as a less special bird species, because there are so many here in the Netherlands. Yet this species of pigeon is quite different... In fact, besides the crown on their heads and their bright red eyes, they are originally from New-Guinea.
Nowadays they unfortunately have been named as "Vulnerable."
With this photo I would like to express a tropical atmosphere, despite the fact that the pigeon is often known as a Dutch city bird. This photo shows me that there are so many species within certain bird families, in so many different countries to discover! So it would be a shame to only look at the city pigeon from your window.
So I would say "go out and explore what kinds of birds and other animals there are to discover in our world!" And for inspiration, this picture on your wall is a great start!
