Fog can bring a lot of beauty to nature. A misty morning hanging over a deserted road somewhere in the Betuwe can provide much beauty. The Betuwe in the beautiful Dutch province of Gelderland between the Waal, the Lek and the Nederrijn Where the name Betuwe comes from is still under discussion. Originally, the Betuwe was supposed to mean good soil, as opposed to the Veluwe which means bad soil. Another possibility is that the name Betuwe is derived from the Germanic tribe Batavians. In the Betuwe you will find more of these kinds of deserted roads, it is a picture you will not easily forget.
