View of mill De Adriaan from the Papentorenvest in Haarlem. The original windmill burned down completely in 1932 and lived on in old paintings and grainy photos's for decades. In 2002, De Adriaan was rebuilt on exactly the same spot - a landmark moment in Haarlem history. Since then, the mill has once again graced the city skyline, just as it did centuries ago. This black-and-white image captures the contrast between past and present in a silent street scene.
I work as a teacher and am also active as a photographer and graphic designer. My home base is the picturesque city of Haarlem, where I enjoy capturing images along the way. My passion lies in photography and digital art.
