You can see the 3 arch bridge
The canal bridge over the Stever led the Alte Fahrt of the Dortmund-Ems Canal (DEK) over the Stever in the north of Olfen. The bridge is one of three historic bridge structures on the Alte Fahrt of the Dortmund-Ems Canal. Further south, the DEK crosses the Oststraße in Olfen with the Schiefe Brücke bridge and the Lippe with another canal bridge.
The canal overpass was designed under the direction of the Royal Prussian Chief Building Director Karl Hinckeldeyn in the historicist style and was built in 1894. It is very similar to the other two bridges, as the end faces of all three structures are made of Ruhr sandstone. The Steverauen, a renaturalised local recreation area with semi-wild grazing Heck cattle and Konik horses, begins at the bridge and stretches as far as the Füchtelner Mühle. The bridge trough and Alte Fahrt are no longer filled with water in this area. They have been incorporated into the hiking and cycle paths around Olfen.
