About ‘Texel De Slufter nature reserve’ by Christine Vesters Fotografie

The Slufter On Texel, between the Muy and the Eierlandse Dunes lies the Slufter, the island's best-known nature reserve. It is a large salt marsh plain between two sand dykes. The special thing is that this salt marsh lies on the North Sea coast. Creeks with salt water flow right through the area. When it storms from the northwest, the area floods. Only plants that can tolerate salt water grow there. In summer, the plain is purple with flowering sea lavender. Most of the Slufter is closed off. Eider ducks and skylarks nest there.
We managed to close the Great Slufter and the Muy permanently. But yes, the Little Slufter got bigger and bigger and proved difficult to close. For a while it was closed in 1902 and 1910, but new breaches always made an opening to the sea again. In 1925, it was tried for the last time. Conservationists made sure it became a nature reserve after that. The southern part is freely accessible.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
