Deze stijl betreft een knipoog naar het pictorialisme, een stroming in de vroegere jaren van de fotografie. In de kunstwereld werd de fotografie als iets minachtends beschouwd omdat dit niet meer dan het reproduceren van de werkelijkheid was. Immers, de fotografie werd gezien als broodroof van die portretschilders die enorm veel concurrentie…
