About ‘Temple @ Bangkok, Thailand’ by Travel Tips and Stories

This is the impressive white stupa of Wat Prayurawongsawat Worawihan (often referred to simply as Wat Prayoon). This temple is situated on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River in the historic Thonburi district of Bangkok.
Key features of this location
Phra Borommathat Maha Chedi: The enormous, bright white, bell-shaped chedi in the background stands a staggering 60 metres tall. In 2013, the complex was awarded the prestigious UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Award for its outstanding and meticulous restoration.
The Interior: Visitors can actually step inside the hollow base of the large chedi to admire the internal structure and the central pillar.
Khao Mo (Turtle Pond): Close to this stupa is a unique rock garden featuring a large pond teeming with turtles. Locals and travellers alike enjoy coming here to feed the turtles and thereby earn Buddhist merit.
