This picture was created during Glow 2016 at Strijp-S in Eindhoven.
The light artwork consisted of a series of hanging light tubes in front of a dark wall.
I chose an oblique angle here so that the lines flowed away in a powerful direction.
With a longer exposure time and a gentle zooming motion, the tubes turned into soft, warm streaks.
This created a bright yet mysterious light image.
Tangerine Twist Tubes 2 is all about direction and depth.
The orange lines run inwards and disappear into a deep shadow. They make the image warm and spacious.
Calm, but full of tension.
For me, this picture shows how light can move without actually moving.
The colour draws your gaze in and makes you stop for a moment.
Together with the other photos in the Tangerine Twist Tubes collection, this work forms a warm, powerful and contemporary series that shows how light, colour and movement can transform a space.
Each photograph tells the same story, but in its own way.
