The inspiration for this picture was the extraordinary colour dynamics of this variety. I was interested in how the strong orange tones combine with the reddish nuances in the centre to create an almost glowing effect. The aim was to capture this visual energy in a calm but focussed image section.
The atmosphere I want to create with this work is lively but not intrusive. It's about warmth, presence and the power of natural colour.
