A very typical Dutch summer landscape.
I photographed the daisies in the landscape myself in the summer. I have multiplied these flowers in photoshop to the number that you can see in the painting.
The clouds and the farmer's landscape I painted with acrylic paint.
The two different elements have been combined digitally into a summery thunderstorm landscape. It is a very recognisable image for the Netherlands; the flat landscape, the farm roofs that you can see in the distance, the enormous skies and clouds, and finally the cheerful bright daisies.
I remembered that as a young girl I so much liked to cut images from magazines to paste them into school agendas, scrapbooks and even on my bedroom door. Add to this the fascination I always had for walls filled with old posters, flaking paint, scrappy billboards.. Read more…
