Sword Beach in Normandy. Historical ground as it is one of the D-Day beaches on which the Allies began the liberation of Europe during the Second World War.
History hasn't been forgotten here, but life goes on and Sword Beach is just another beach like everyone else. The locals come here to relax, the fishermen drive into the sea at low tide with tractors to bring their fishing boats ashore and the characteristic Normandy houses have the historic beach as their backyard.
