A highlight of any trip to Switzerland is an excursion to the Jungfraujoch. At 3,464 metres above sea level, the Jungfraujoch is the lowest point in the connecting ridge between the Mönch and the Jungfrau in the Bernese Alps, on the border between the cantons of Bern and Valais.
The easiest way to get here is with the Jungfrau Railway.
For over 100 years, it has been travelling to the highest railway station in Europe at 3,454 metres above sea level, right in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch". From Kleine Scheidegg, you first travel to the Eiger Glacier station and then through a 7-kilometre-long tunnel steeply up to the Jungfraujoch.

The Mönchsjochhütte is located in the heart of the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site at 3,650 metres above sea level. Switzerland's highest manned hut can be reached from the Jungfraujoch in 45 minutes on a high Alpine trail.
