Graceful, stately, slender and pure - these are characteristics of the swan. In the park, on the side of the water behind our house, there is a pair of swans. They glide gracefully through the water as if it takes no effort at all. Hardly a ripple can be seen in the water. Things change when they are chased and take flight with flapping wings and legs: water splashes up on all sides, the sound of the wings waves with them until they find a quiet place to land and settle in the water. In summer, the whole swan family, young and all, swims through the gully. White swans with brownish youngsters....maybe you know the fairy tale by H.C. Andersen in which the ugly 'duckling' eventually turns into a beautiful swan.
In this painting, the swan has hidden its beak in the fluffy feathers. I usually paint with acrylic paint, but this time I chose oil paint: a material that is very easy to work with. The result is worth it. I hope this work will soon be hanging on your wall! Highly recommended.
