One evening in May, I photographed this setting in the Bargerveen. Heather not yet in bloom, against a beautiful green row of trees and coloured skies by the sunset. The combination of the dark brown of the heather and the bright light colours in the clouds make this picture exciting.
The Bargerveen is a heath/moorland area that is part of the former BourtangerMoor. In the Dutch part of the moor, there is no more excavation, but nature is given free rein to develop. How different it is in the German part of the area, where plenty of peat is still being excavated.
I am a nature and landscape photographer and photograph my subjects according to the seasons. In spring and summer, I prefer photographing butterflies, dragonflies and birds. In autumn, I focus my lenses on mushrooms. Besides these subjects, I regularly take landscape photos during my walks.
