Sunset over Wijk aan Zee
A sunset's golden glow and the deserted Noordpier near Wijk aan Zee. A ship on the horizon a few fishermen and their fishing rods these are small details on the that long pier. A calm sea on a summer evening.
With my work as a street photographer, I show the rough, unpolished sides of city life. With my photographs, I try to capture the beauty of everyday moments. The viewer can then invent his or her own story to go with it. I also have a fondness for industrial environments, such as harbour sites and factory buildings, where traces of the industrial past are still present. In doing so, I try to photograph subtle details, using both digital and analogue cameras.
