I made this image at sunset as low light skimmed the rooflines and chimneys of Venice. The sun sat near the horizon and turned tiles to warm copper while the city stretched toward the lagoon. I wanted the view to feel woven, a pattern of water and stone explained by light.
A careful aperture carried detail across the frame and a steady support kept edges true. Look for small terraces tucked into the roofs, a narrow canal line cutting diagonally through the blocks, and a distant band of islands that sets the scale. Color remains natural so the print pairs well with neutral palettes.
The mood I aimed for is reflective and bright. For me the picture is about orientation and time, the way an old city welcomes evening with quiet shine.
