The job as a data engineer in the Bathymetry working group at the Alfred Wegener Institute in Bremerhaven brings with it many privileges, such as taking part in a transit on Polarstern from Bremerhaven to South Africa in 2022 (PS132). Many interesting pictures could be taken during the journey in free minutes.
But before we set off for Africa, we had to make a stopover in Rotterdam to refuel. In the evening before entering the Dutch harbour, the clear sky and horizon allowed us to take a few intense shots of the ships and the setting sun.
