Radio Kootwijk is one of the most extraordinary buildings in the Netherlands, and at sunset it takes on something magical. What inspired me was the combination of sleek architecture and the endless space around the building - you feel the silence and power of this place.
I deliberately chose a central composition, so that the symmetry of the building and the reflection can be fully appreciated. The early morning is the time when you can experience Radio Kootwijk in peace and quiet, without crowds, only with the sounds of nature around you. It almost feels like going back in time, to the days when this building played an important role in radio communication with the Dutch East Indies.
