The iconic Avro Vulcan bomber during a beautiful sunset. The Avro Vulcan was a heavy strategic bomber with subsonic speed from the British aircraft manufacturer A.V. Roe and Company. The aircraft with characteristic delta wings first flew in 1952 and it was used by the Royal Air Force (RAF) from 1956 to 1984 as part of the nuclear deterrent force. The aircraft had a crew of five: two pilots, a navigator, a radar operator and an electronic warfare operator and had a bomb bay initially designed to hold two atomic bombs.
