Sunrise as our planes approach the European continent at 41,000 feet. After hours of flying over dark ice plains and water, we finally see the first signs of civilization in the form of the illuminated cities of Ireland, while the sun with a narrow band of light lets us know it's coming again. And that we are only a few hours away from home.
