The Eilandspolder in the province of Noord-Holland in the spring. Sailing with a whisper boat under a blue sky, along the beautiful nature, meadows with curious sheep; The classic Bosman windmill did a good job on this windy day.
The Bosman mill is a small polder mill that was developed in 1929 by Bas Bosman in the Dutch town of Piershil and subsequently applied all over the world. They are still made in Piershil.
The Eilandspolder is located in the middle of North Holland, sandwiched between the Beemster and Schermer drying plants. Villages in this area are Graft, de Rijp, Oost- and Westgraftdijk, Noordeinde, Grootschermer, Driehuizen and Schermerhorn. To the south it almost joins the Wormer and Jisperveld, an area with a similar character. To the north lies the Mijzen polder, a more or less similar area that is still mainly used agriculturally.
I've been doing photography since I bought an SLR from my first paycheck. Favorite subjects are landscapes and birds. But also for other subjects I like to take on the challenge of capturing these special ones.
