Very special to see these rare bearded vultures from this bird hut. The bearded vulture feeds 80% of its food on the bones of cadavers. The large beak opening allows it to swallow bones up to 18 cm in size at once. He takes larger bones into the air and drops them on rocks to smithereens. In addition to lime, bones contain a lot of protein and the marrow is also nutritious. By using thermals, this bird can circle in the air for hours without a single wingstroke.
