The back of a sunflower. Fair is fair I rarely look at this side either. The other side is prettier, right? Sunflower Sunrich Gold is beautiful on the front too. Warm yellow petals surrounding a heart of green buds that slowly open and turn yellow from the outside. I don't even remember why I looked at the back. But when I did I saw this. A beautiful play of lines of green bracts and golden yellow petals emerging from them. I fell for the colour combination. For the clean lines in the yellow that stand out against the curly ends of the green leaves. And for the many tiny white hairs on the bracts. Those hairs, I had never seen them before. Would you see the green leaves alone, it could be a cactus full of spines. And as beautiful as I think the front of this sunflower is. I think this photo of the back, is my favourite.
