About ‘Summer’ by Herman Ketz

This etching shows an abstract field of colour and characters: tiny markings that look like letters, numbers and fragments of an indecipherable code. They float through a background of ochre yellow and deep black, as if part of a forgotten alphabet.

The warm yellow core forms a point of light, while dark areas and a subtle red hue add tension. The texture of the etching plate - full of smudges, scratches and residual forms - gives the work its raw, layered character.

Code in Yellow raises questions: is it about meaning, memory, language or purely visual traces? The result is a mysterious and poetic work in which symbols and colour come together in balance.

Herman Ketz (Enschede) is a draughtsman, graphic artist, sculptor and assemblage artist. After years as a self-taught artist, he followed the evening course at the AKI in Enschede from 1993 to 1997. His work is characterised by the reuse of old materials: used etching plates, wood and metal form the basis for new sculptures. What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
