This work is a cut-out of a watercolour I made in my Haarlem studio. Using magenta, red, orange, green, turquoise and lilac on wet paper, I created something that reminds me of a colourful summer bouquet. The lightness and space in the work make you almost feel the wind in your hair and the sun on your face.
In the original watercolour, the texture of the paper is very visible. Normally I don't mind that, but this paper was rougher watercolour paper than I normally use. Therefore, I edited the image and made it even softer to the eye.
Because of the many colours and intermediate tones, this work will compliment many an interior. Whether the curtains are dark blue or the walls yellow, you have a green sofa or a red rug.
