Street art on Rossio Rossio is the popular name of Pedro IV square in central Lisbon. It has been one of the city's main squares since the Middle Ages. Previously known as a place for executions, bullfights, demonstrations and as a meeting place, the square's name comes from King Peter I of Brazil, who was king of Portugal in the 19th century. In the centre of the square is a column with a statue of him. There is also a large fountain and one can visit the Santa Justa church in the northeast corner of the square.
