"Strawberries" is a work of art that celebrates the juicy essence of strawberries, captured in a geometric composition. The deep red colour of the fruit catches the eye, its facets shimmering like precious stones against a mosaic of hues that reflect the variety of the fruit itself.
As an artist, I have always been fascinated by the way light interacts with surfaces, and in "Strawberries" I have expressed this fascination. The polygonal shapes give the strawberry an almost crystal-like structure that captures and reflects light, giving it a vivid dimension that invites a second look.
The background of the work, a patchwork of squares, is reminiscent of a wall of mosaic tiles, providing both support and contrast to the round, organic shape of the strawberry. It is a play of texture and pattern, enticing and challenging the viewer to look at the familiar in a new way.
