Storm tracks in the sand on the North Pier
In the foreground the rough tracks on the North Pier during a storm. The red flag the grey sky and the waves rolling in on the south pier. The sand blowing across the pier atomises over the edges towards the sea. The dune edge just before the beach with marram grass in this photo. A unique piece of North Holland photographed.
With my work as a street photographer, I show the rough, unpolished sides of city life. With my photos, I try to capture the beauty of everyday moments. The viewer can then invent his or her own story to go with it. I also have a fondness for industrial environments, such as harbour sites and factory buildings, where traces of the industrial past are still present. In doing so, I try to photograph subtle details, using both digital and analogue cameras.
