About ‘Stone owl, what eyes!’ by Bert Huisman
What eyes!
He seems to look right through you with his yellow eyes with huge black pupils.
Could it be compensatory behaviour? After all, it is one of the smallest owls around.
They nest in old woodpecker holes, pollard willows and human-hung cupboards.
Old barns are also very popular with this cute owl species.

Since my childhood, I have been interested in nature, especially the world of birds. The Netherlands has the most beautiful bird species in all seasons. You have to learn to see them.
So that is what I like to do, searching, observing, getting to know the birds in their habits. Then trying to photograph them from their most beautiful side!
