It is November in Spain.
The almonds have already been harvested, pomegranates hang ripe in the bushes, the last grapes hang sweetly on the tendrils and the figs pop open after a rain and show their crimson insides to lure birds and insects.
The olives must be harvested: they are starting to fall.
