St Magdalena Chapel – Santa Maddalena in the Dolomites by Eriks Photoshop

A small church, a magnificent mountain landscape. In the verdant Val di Funes stands the distinctive little church of St Magdalena, or Santa Maddalena, set amidst a landscape that ranks among the most beautiful in South Tyrol. In this square photograph, the historic little church forms an atmospheric focal point between the vast mountain pastures and the imposing peaks of the Geisler Group.
What makes this landscape so special is precisely the contrast between the small, recognisable church and the overwhelming natural surroundings. The Dolomites rise high above the valley in the background, whilst the green slopes and meadows provide a peaceful and natural foreground.
The Church of Santa Maddalena has become an iconic symbol of the Dolomites and is one of the most photographed locations in Val di Funes (Villnösstal). The centuries-old little church and the majestic Geisler or Odle range together form a scene that is instantly recognisable to lovers of South Tyrol and the Italian Alps.
The square aspect ratio gives the photograph a powerful, balanced look and makes it particularly suitable as modern wall art. The landscape brings a sense of space, tranquillity and nature into the home and fits beautifully into a rustic, modern, Scandinavian or minimalist interior.
A special choice for lovers of the Dolomites, Italy, South Tyrol, mountain landscapes, photography and travel. For those who have ever hiked through the Val di Funes, this is also an evocative reminder of one of the most distinctive places in the Alps.
