I was busy in my studio, taking some photos's of products when I suddenly saw a white feather lying on the worktop, surprised I looked around and yes, a sweet little bird was looking at me cheekily, a robin, he ( or she) dropped something else and then flew away again through the door... I took a picture of his feather, black and white, because my camera was set that way. I thought it created a nice contrast with a little blurred reflection in the shiny paint of my worktop.
The photo was made square, which is really my favourite crop anyway, and further edited a bit in high lights, black tones and that was it....
Because of the black background and the reflection, the feather is more isolated but her sharp image.
Through the way I photograph things, I try to surprise you and express the unexpected. I challenge you to discover which object the photo was taken from. Sometimes they are ordinary things around us, but unrecognisable because of the way they have been photographed. I am guided.. Read more…
