I took this photo in July 2023, near Epen, close to the Belgian border. What you see is typical southern Limburg: rolling fields, rows of trees, a few white houses on the horizon. The evening sun fell just right, giving the landscape nice, long shadows and highlighting its depth.
What struck me - and what you only see later - are the details: the winding paths between the trees, the way the wheat field almost blends into the slope, and those heavy clouds that hung over the hills at just the right moment. As if it all came together for a moment.
I was just out and about that night, camera with me. No big story behind it - except that I liked the way the light was falling. Sometimes that's enough.
The atmosphere is calm, a bit rural. It gives space. No spectacle, just a place that gives you pause.
In an interior, this work brings a bit of that outdoor feeling inside. It suits people who love nature, walking or cycling - or anyone who has a thing for this part of the Netherlands.
