About ‘Some coolness in a wadi’ by Margot van den Berg

A pleasant, cool oasis of water and palm trees lying at the bottom of the Hadjar Mountains in Oman. Lying at the end of an inhospitable, dry mountain range with foothills towards the sea. You can feel the coolness of the water, the shade of the palm trees and the contrast with the bare mountain behind it when you look at the photo. The river brings life and livability to the mountains.

Wadi Bani Khalid is one of the riverbeds created by rainwater flowing down from the mountains. The rain as it flows down forms rivulets that increasingly merge into a larger stream. A process that has been taking place for centuries and has slowly carved out a fixed route on the way down. Once down, the water spreads out over a wider river bottom with pebble beaches and a palm tree fringe.

Only when there is enough rain in the mountains later in the year the bed is full of water. If there is no rain or if the rain does not fall for too long, the flow stops and the bed dries up.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
