About ‘Sofia, ballet in line work’ by Loes van der Staak

Enjoy this graceful ballet dancer. Ballet originated in Italy in the 15th century. The word Ballet is derived via French from the Italian word Balletto or Ballo, which literally means "dance coast".

As a photographer, I already loved line work. Everywhere in the world you see lines, especially if you pay extra attention. There is an awful lot of beauty in them.

In my line work, by keeping it simple, I still try to create something significant. By adding shades of pink and red, I emphasise the atmosphere of ballet.

I look for an appropriate name for all my works and search until I find a match with the work, Sofia, an Italian name that stands for courage, faith and wisdom, which this woman radiates, alone on stage.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
