A blue tit sits in a pond, in the middle of her own little moment of wellness. Her blue-and-yellow feathers stick to her body, darker now that they are soaked, but still radiant like a painting in motion. With her wings spread, she remains seated for a moment, as if to show the world that sometimes enjoyment is just a matter of lingering in the moment.
Drops slide down her body and splatter when she shakes herself.
Then she lifts her head slightly, chest out. It is not a hasty bath, not a fleeting movement, but a ritual of relaxation. In that image, captured by the lens, you see more than a bird washing itself: you see pure joy in the simplicity of water and wings.
