About the artwork

The snowy owl (Bubo scandiacus) is a bird of the owl family (Strigidae).The body length of the snowy owl is 55 to 70 cm and the weight 1 to 2.5 kg. They can reach an average age of 20 years. The snowy owl has a mainly white plumage with black spots. Males and older specimens are whiter than the others. The white reflects in the sun, a feature the birds would use to make their presence known in their territory. The face, throat and breast are the whitest and are most often placed in the sun. The whitest birds may also take advantage of the albedo of snow, possibly selecting lower, less visible perches than spotted specimens. Snowy owls nest in a pit on the ground which they line with feathers, moss and leaves. Thanks to their good camouflage color they are hardly noticed during breeding. Incubation takes 27 to 34 days. Chicks leave the nest regularly after 25 days. They are not able to fly yet, but will do so after about two months. Chicks reach adulthood at the age of two. Clutch size varies between three and fourteen eggs, depending on the food supply. In lemming-rich years, the number of eggs is greatest. In harsh winters it is sometimes observed in the Netherlands or Belgium as a wanderer. But its distribution area is the extreme north of Asia, Europe and North America. There, the predominantly white snowy owl lives and nests on the tundra.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
