What a huge hulk, the story below gives the origin of his name !
Sleipnir is an eight legged stallion from the Nordic mythology, immensely strong and the fastest horse there is. He is the horse of Odin and according to tradition carried him through the heavens and into the underworld. Sleipnir is the child of Loki and Svadilfari. Sleipnir is said to have made Iceland during his first footstep here on earth.
Sleipnir is also said to have killed his 'sister' Hel, but is eaten by his 'brother' Fenrir, the giant wolf, during Ragnarok (end of times). All of Loki's children have one thing in common, they are monsters; although Sleipnir is the only good creature. Odin would also later win Sleipnir during a race with a giant.
