There is one week every year where the sun rises exactly behind this tree, which I found out quite accidentally, because I don't like to plan my images into minute details. This does not mean that very single year it is possible to make an image like this, because the pollard willow is topped every other year or so and then this scene does not look very magical at all. The branches of the pillar willow are scattering the light into sun rays which makes this such a magical scene. This wetland area is part of the Gelderse Poort in The Netherlands
