Sometimes birds use ships to roost overseas. Here, however, we see a rare nice moment where short-eared owls are resting on a sailboat that has been parked. The boat had been there for some time and slowly the birds noticed that they would not be disturbed there. These short-eared owls had gone to the Netherlands with its because of mouse infestations. The area was closed to general public so song they were more at peace. Even cats and dogs could no longer disturb them. As they perched on the ship's mast, it soon became a small work of art. This picture, too, is quite unique. The birds left every evening to hunt mice on the grassy fields nearby. How wonderful to experience nature so close by. So birds also serve the farmer by trying to help him get rid of his mouse infestation. Fortunately, there were still 32 owls present who all helped.
