About ‘Shells in the surf on the beach in North Holland.’ by Ineke de Rijk
Watercolor of colorful washed-up shells . They lie in the surf on the beach and the blue seawater washes over them. The sunlight reflects on the shells and makes the colors and shell shapes stand out beautifully . The sea can be calm but also wild and often gives us a sense of vacation. It is fun to look for shells on the beach there…

Ineke de Rijk's inspiring travels
From the Algarve to The GambiaI have time to draw and paint more after years of volunteer work for the St. Care Foundation The Gambia. Inspiration I got in the Gambia where I also lived. The colors, the population and life is a great source of inspiration. But also the quieter life now is inspiring to use softer colours and to work more with pastel chalk. But still it's nice to work in all kinds of colours and to try out new techniques and new materials.
