As an abstract art photographer, I have always tried to see and capture the everyday in a different way. Shadows of White is an expression of my search for the subtle play of light and shadow that takes place in our everyday surroundings, but often goes unnoticed. For me, this work is about the wealth of details we often overlook; the soft transitions between different shades of white and grey that create a sense of depth and texture.
In creating Shadows of White, I wanted to open a dialogue between the viewer and the simple beauty of minimalism. I am strongly influenced by the works of artists such as Agnes Martin and Robert Ryman, who manage to convey so much emotion and complexity with their seemingly simple approach. Their works have taught me that there is strength in limiting colour and form, and that these limitations actually open the door to a deeper, more contemplative experience.
For me, this work is an invitation to the viewer to pause and rediscover the beauty of the everyday. It is a reflection of my personal vision that art is all around us, even in the simplest and most ordinary things like this wall. Shadows of White represents my belief that abstract art is a powerful way to convey emotions and thoughts without words.
