The world-famous Girl with the Pearl Earring, originally painted by Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer, around 1665-1667.
I created a minimalist rendering of the girl in green silhouette, half hidden behind a vintage image of a yellow plant.
Less is more, simplicity makes art.

Museum Het Mauritshuis in The Hague (where the original painting "Girl with the Pearl Earring" hangs) launched a call for creative interpretations of this world-famous painting in late 2024. The call was answered en masse, over 2,700 entries were sent in from all over the world.
From all the submissions, The Mauritshuis made a selection of 60 girls, including the girl you are looking at now. The 60 girls will be continuously presented in the museum's foyer from 25 February 2025, digitally, in a 3D printed frame, an exact copy of the original.
The stylists at Art Heroes call my art style ‘Art with a Wink’. And I couldn't agree more. Life is serious enough as it is, don't you think? ;-)
I mainly make surrealist artworks and collages, because in those artstyles I can so wonderfully unleash my creativity and unbridled..
