This unusual building in Seville, the Edificio La Adriática, immediately attracts attention with its elegant round shapes and striking green-and-white dome. Designed in 1914 by architect José Espiau y Muñoz, it stands right on Avenida de la Constitución, close to the cathedral. The style is typically neomudejar, with Moorish influences that make Seville so unique.

The picture shows the full grandeur of this building: the richly decorated arches, the wrought-iron balconies and the warm tones of stone and brick. The soft Spanish light enhances the colours, while the blue sky with light clouds creates an airy and bright atmosphere. There is a certain symmetry and strength to the image, making it almost reminiscent of New York's iconic Flatiron Building - but with a distinctly Andalusian character.

As a photographer, I wanted to capture more than just a cityscape. I was looking for a balance between architecture and atmosphere, between the history of the building and the experience of the place. The composition and light create a work that appeals not only to lovers of Spain, Seville and city trips, but also to travellers who love unusual architecture and photography with character.
