About ‘Setting sun in the harbour . (inspired by Monet )’ by Ineke de Rijk
Setting sun in the harbour, the sun and boats reflect in the seawater . The setting sun gives a light glow on the water turning it blue green. The fishermen have cast out their nets in the last rays of the sun, it is quiet again in the harbour .
A painting painted with oil pastel chalk and inspired by Claude Monet.

Ineke de Rijk's inspiring travels
From the Algarve to The GambiaI have time to draw and paint more after years of volunteer work for the St. Care Foundation The Gambia. Inspiration I got in the Gambia where I also lived. The colors, the population and life is a great source of inspiration. But also the quieter life now is inspiring to use softer colours and to work more with pastel chalk. But still it's nice to work in all kinds of colours and to try out new techniques and new materials.
