A seagull rests on the summit of the Peñón de Ifach. It gazes at the blue sea, the marina and the urban architecture of the coastal town of Calpe. The Peñón de Ifach Nature Park in Calpe is the habitat of numerous seagulls and an excellent vantage point on the Mediterranean coast. The smallest nature reserve on the Spanish mainland is also a wonderful destination for hiking and climbing.
On the ridge of the Peñón de Ifach, I like to have my camera ready to capture the coastal landscape from a bird's eye view. High up, there are great views of the steep cliffs and the Mediterranean Sea. I particularly enjoy watching the birds resting on the rocks. But I also love the view of the city centre and the harbour. The elevated position offers fantastic vantage points. For this reason, the Peñón de Ifach Nature Park is one of my favourite destinations on the northern Costa Blanca. Here, beautiful nature is very close to the lively city life, which is characterised by tourism and is in a constant state of change.
