The ferry from Paros to Naxos provides views of the islands along the way. Higher, lower, larger, smaller, each is unique in shape and color.
On a calm day we sail from Paros to Naxos. The sea is calm, giving a beautiful dark background to the sky and clouds above. The islands are scattered in the Aegean Sea.
Many islands look rough; a bare rock rising from the water. Closer up, there is often a sign of life. A single building, an overhead power line. And on the island at the front of the photo, a weather station. A sturdy building with a glass house on top. It is a working light house, a lantern that pilots ships to Paros harbor in the dark.
The calmness of the landscape. The distant view. The distance disappearing into soft shades of blue. Everything about this image contributes to a vacation feeling. To relaxation and dreaming.
