Three mallards fly along a forest edge calling loudly in the early morning light. Two males fly off in front, followed by a female. The drakes seem to be fighting with each other. Presumably, the female is interested in seeing which of the two is winning the argument.
With the mallards the mating season is approaching!
A surely rather unusual picture of a very special scene, which goes far beyond a pure representation and tells a story. Also the image composition is certainly rather unusual but interesting. Soft, warm colors and a perfectly seated autofocus on the wild ducks fighting with each other make up the high quality of the shot.
