This painting shows a Scottish highlander caught in a blizzard, straight from the rugged north. The cool tones of icy blue, white and grey make this work surprisingly powerful and serene at the same time. The coat is made up of thick brushstrokes that seem to sway with the gusts of snow. The eyes remain barely visible, but the shape of the head and horns exude imperturbable strength.
This is not a loud work, but rather an image full of calm and determination, a symbol of fortitude in all weathers. The painting conveys a cool feeling, but with a warm admiration for survivability. Perfect for interiors with a calm, Scandinavian or minimalist character. A work that suits lovers of winter landscapes, wildlife or people who love the beauty in stillness and resistance.
My inspiration for creating a collection of animal portraits was inspired by my childhood, growing up among animals. My parents kept goats and sheep, among others, and that is where my love for nature and animal life was born. Each animal had its own character, its own look, its own energy, and it is precisely this diversity that still fascinates me. In these paintings, I try to capture not only the form, but especially the soul of the animal.
