The Scottish Highlanders are a beloved subject for photographers and for the wall. During a ride with my mobility scooter through recreation and nature reserve the Broekpolder near Vlaardingen I always hope to encounter a few. This time I was very lucky. With the herd are namely a few calves. This young calf from a Scottish Highlander probably had the jitters, because it was rubbing itself against the tree. It also tried to 'wash' itself. The calf is so young that it has not yet received any ear tags. I don't want to disturb the herd and, especially when there are youngsters, keep a sufficient distance. Fortunately, I have a telephoto lens and don't have to go too close to take the picture.
This photo is from my Villa Joep Collection. The proceeds (my commission) I donate entirely to the Villa Joep Foundation. I sincerely hope that you order something beautiful from this special Villa Joep Collection for charity!
